Narrating a City's Community Mediation Journey
Stories and art illuminate surprises, hopes and new possibilities

The Peterborough Dialogues, an initiative of Axiom News, has been narrating the unfolding story of a new project in its hometown, called Community Mediation Peterborough.

Community mediation may be described as a facilitated conversation. Trained volunteers support those in dispute to work through their differences and identify a solution both parties are willing to own.

As this project has come to life, often in surprising ways, the Peterborough Dialogues team has been illuminating moments in the journey through stories, art, poetry and video.

Enjoy the compilation of these artifacts, created over the course of this project, by clicking on the image to the right.

The Peterborough Dialogues narrative arts team also created the brief video documentary below with Community Mediation Co-ordinator Marion Little. Marion is invited to reflect on surprises in the journey so far, new possibilities and what’s next.

Community Mediation Peterborough is a new partnership between John Howard Society of Peterborough, Peterborough Housing Corporation, and Peterborough Police Services. The program launch was funded by the Ministry of Community Safety & Correctional Services.
